Link-Up Services

Bringing Them Home Counsellors work closely with Link-Up services to reunite the stolen generations with their families.

Link-Up is an Aboriginal organisation founded in 1980 and based in New South Wales.  They work with Aboriginal Adults who were separated from their families when they were children.  They were raised by non-Aoriginal people in institutions or private homes.

Most of the children grew up knowing very little of their Aboriginal families, heritage and culture. When the children became adults many didn't go home because they were not sure if anyone would recognise them or even remember who they were.  Some did not even know their real names or where they originally cam from.

Link-Up is for all Aboriginal people who have been fostered, adopted or raised in institutions.

Service provision includes;

  • Assistance to both separated people who have not yet made their way home and the families of people who have been separated from their children.
  • Offer counselling/ support to people and assist them with some of their concerns or unanswered questions before, during and after the journey home.
  • Help people by assisting them with options when making decisions relating to their reunions.  Some people prefer to write letters or talk on the phone.  People may want to go by themself or have a Link-Up counsellor go with them to the reunion.

If you are an Aboriginal Adult who was removed/ separated and would like assistance please contact.
