The second biennial ‘Living Artist’ Scholarship winner, Tanja Riese, will present her first major solo exhibition Journey to Home at the Bega Valley Regional Gallery in February and March. This is the culmination of Tanja’s studio work over twelve months, with professional development provided by mentors and Living Artist Committee members. Lake Jindabyne
Jindabyne
Lake Light Sculpture is an exhibition and competition held along the stunning foreshore of Lake Jindabyne located at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains NSW. The annual exhibition runs over the Easter weekend with the official opening & award presentation on Good Friday morning.
The exhibition is visited by thousands of people, both local residents and visitors over this busy holiday period.
Light is a distinctive, innovative element of the event. A unique feature of this sculpture exhibition is the dramatic nighttime illumination of the artworks. This illumination provides an amazing variation to the daytime viewpoint. In addition to the man-made lighting there is the truly spectacular ambience created by the full Easter moon.
The exhibition is open to all artists; established, mid career, emerging, novice and students. All forms of sculpture in any medium are invited. Artists represented here have exhibited world wide and Australia wide.
There are seven award categories including Major 1st prize, Environment, Illumination, Youth and People’s Choice. In 2008 the total cash prize value was $11,750 plus a three week residency at the ANU sculpture workshop. It is anticipated that 2009 prize value will increase, depending on the level of funding and sponsorship gained. Sales of artwork in the 2007 exhibition grossed $37,000.00, and $12,500 in 2008.
Significant community involvement encourages greater understanding and enjoyment of this unique outdoor exhibition. In 2008 Sculpture workshops were held prior to the event at three of the five Snowy Mountains schools and within the community. A range of audience participation arts related activities are held over the weekend.
The not-for-profit event is managed by Snowy River Arts. The membership of these bodies makes up a professional, diverse team with a wide range of skills and knowledge.

Konstantin Shamray, winner of the 2008 Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia, thrilled the audience when he played for the South Coast Music Society in September 2008. His performance was universally met with praise and his brilliance at the keyboard was recognised as simply outstanding.
Konstantin was born, and still lives, in Russia. However his success has seen him perform across Europe, the United States and Australia. We welcome Konstantin back to Batemans Bay in 2010 and look forward to his display of musical talent, both technically and interpretatively, in works by Tchaikovsky and Chopin. Konstantin appears courtesy of the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia.
Presented by the South Coast Music Society.

This duo brings together two of Australia’s best known and internationally renowned soloists. Lacey and Schaupp first performed together at the 2004 Barossa Festival in South Australia and discovered an instant rapport, both musically and personally. Their shared repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to new commissions written especially for them, and concerts feature not only duets but also solos from each artist.
Definitely a concert not to be missed!
