Firstly, Thankyou for your enquiry. In this day and age we are constantly aware how much our time is in demand and we can appreciate that you are taking the time to read this message.
Many movies, television advertisements, government and industry bodies, not to mention alcoholics, drug addicts, their families and employers, have created a steady appetite for information on Alcoholism and Addiction which has become the 'spark plug' for a new kind of health movement.
This call was answered by our co-founder Marty Mann in 1944.
A.C.A.D.D welcomes you. Ultimately, it is you, the invidual to whom we address our efforts, our hopes and our prayers. It is towards the alcoholic, the addict and their families' happiness and usefulness to society that our organizational efforts, educational campaigns and research endeavours are directed.
Changing existing attitudes about acoholism and other drug addictions presents a formidable challenge.
A.C.A.D.D, a non-profit organization does not accept funding from the Alcoholic beverage, tobacco, or drug related industries. We rely on contributions from foundations, corporations and inviduals for support.

Alcoholism, other drug addictions and related problems threaten the fabric of Australian society and are closely linked with many social problems, including crime, homelessness, teenage pregnancy, domestic violence, workplace accidents (OH&S) and family breakups.
Even though Australians are becoming far more open about acknowledging the destructive effects of alcohol and other drugs, they have not yet come to grips with the root causes of addiction. They still too often blame the "victim" of the disease. This is where A.C.A.D.D makes the biggest difference.
We openly welcome your efforts to help all people Australian and around the world, face the challenge of alcohol and other drugs.
To help us teach the public that alcoholism and addiction is preventable and treatable, a social responsibility and NOT a moral weakness, -that alcoholics and addicts are capable of recovery and lead responsible lives.
